Union Congregational

We, at Union Congregational Church, believe in a focus on family and community. It is through our connection to God that we foster healthy relationships, both for ourselves and those around us. Our sense of connection to our daily and spiritual worlds allow us to bring together an understanding of the importance of a solid and familiar foundation from which, to go forth into our lives and create beauty and harmony in the world we encounter. Through small acts… we try each day to help the world around us shine a little brighter for those with whom we share it.

Open and Affirming Statement.

We believe that every person is a child of God, made in God’s image, loved by God, and invested with dignity and worth; and that discipleship requires us to “Welcome others as Christ welcomes us” (Romans 15:7). As an Open and Affirming Congregation, we embrace diversity in our congregation and in our community. We welcome into full membership and participation persons of every race, language, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability, economic circumstance, marital status and faith background. We believe such is the Realm of God.

Covenant of Union Congregational: United Church of Christ

We covenant one with another to seek and respond to the Word and Will of God. We intend to walk together in the ways of God, made known and to be made known to us. We hold it to be the mission of the Church to witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ in all the world, while worshiping God, and striving for truth, justice and peace. As did those who have gone before us, we depend on the Holy Spirit to lead and empower us. We pray for the coming of the realm of God as we look with faith toward the triumph of righteousness and eternal life.

Purpose of the Church

The avowed purpose of this church shall be to worship God, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to celebrate the Sacraments; to realize Christian fellowship and unity within this church and the Church Universal; to render loving service toward mankind; and to strive for righteousness, justice and peace.
